British Open day 2 – Quick update on morning’s play
Wow, what an exciting morning at The British Open! Just as predicted, the pros have been struggling like hell with the wind. Ian Poulter has had a stinker and is currently on +15 after 16 holes. The Englishman couldn’t hit a thing today and I think that’s the end of his Open challenge.
McIlroy is having a bad one too and has slipped down to +3 with a round of 74 today. It’s all change then on The Open leaderboard today.
If you can, sit down and watch it tonight, it’s been an incredible day with Tom Watson sinking a birdie on the first hole. The real story of the day though is Kenichi Kuboya who came off the course at 9.30pm last night finishing with a host of birdies and an eagle to five under and join the leaders in the clubhouse.
He’s doing well today as well and is currently Evens for the day and still sharing the lead with Tom Watson and Steve Marino at five under. This could be an awesome game of golf today.
Jiminez has had an up and down day dropping six shots in the first ten holes. He’s pulled it back though with three birdies still leaving him in contention at three under par. The outcome of this tournament will massively depend on the weather at Turnberry, just as predicted.
Ross Fisher is also doing well and sits at three under in the clubhouse after a round of 68 today. The Englishman could be in for an excellent competition. Still to tee-off though is Tiger Woods who with a good round today could be right back in it.
Keep your eyes peeled on this one Fairway Finders, it could be anyone!
