TaylorMade Burner Superfast Driver Review

The TaylorMade Burner Superfast DriverIf sexy is what you’re looking for, look no further than the spanking brand new TaylorMade Burner Superfast driver, it’s an absolute beauty of a club.

It follows on from the last incarnation of the burner driver which was the most successful driver in TaylorMade history. This one is much better looking though and at 284 grams, it’s 14 grams less than previous versions. This puppy is designed to deliver astonishing club head speed which obviously translates into smashing it down the fairway much further.

The Superfast Burner has the largest club face of any TaylorMade driver and measures a massive 4,500 square millimetres which is 14% larger than previous models and makes it easier to hit than asbo chav and prettier than Turnberry in the sun.

My favourite part of the driver is Dual Crown, it looks awesome. Apparently it lowers and pulls back the centre of gravity which helps give you better launch angles and increased spin which is what stops your ball heading for the out-of –bounds.

They’ve even made the shaft a bit longer and lighter with the Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft. The 46.5” beauty automatically provides you with a wider, faster swing arc which will almost guarantee you more distance than your current driver.

The TaylorMade Burner Superfast Driver at Address

The SuperFast range will be rolled out with a ladies version, fairway woods and no doubt some kind of tour version and irons in the near future. The driver will be available in three lofts, 9.5, 10.5 and HT and five shaft flexes from March 1, 2010 and will sell for just £239 which I think is a great starting price for this club.

The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast Driver Club Face

I love TaylorMade design and this driver is one of the finest I’ve seen, it’s just gorgeous and continues to move golfing technology onward and upwards. Well designed, well priced and well desirable it brightens up an otherwise dull January and makes me want to get out there and smash a few down the fairway. Lovely.

  1. I hit this and the new R9 supertri over the weekend. The burner is epic. Catch it on the screws and the ball launches like it was shot out of a canon.
TM has taken the weight down with out losing all the feel of where the club head is.

I just went out and bought the new TaylorMade Burner Superfast. My first swing when testing it out produced the draw shape i look to see in my ball flights, but the carry distance astonished me.. 245yds! Anyone looking to vamp they’re driving distance should definately go out purchase this club. The sheer joy of watching the ball rocket off this club is worth any price. Enjoy, and it might be time to consider taking those longest drive bets with your friends

  3. I totally agree, the distance you can get off one of these is amazing! I’m really glad you liked it Tyler and Bob…no doubt you’ll both be hitting the 300 yard mark very soon! Thanks for your comments, Jon
