Top Golf top-up charity bank balance with host of fund raising
Recently, hi-tech driving range company Top Golf has undertaken a host of fund raising activity to put some money in the coffers of the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign.
Millwall striker Neil Harris accepted a cheque on behalf of the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign from TopGolf’s Chigwell site on Monday July 27.
TopGolf has raised a fantastic £6,660.09 from their three centres at Watford, Chigwell and Surrey [Addlestone] and all the money will go towards supporting vital research at the Everyman male cancer centre into prostate and testicular cancer.
TopGolf donated 5p for every game purchased during June which was Everyman Male Cancer Awareness Month and, in addition, they held evening fundraising events at each of the three sites.
Alison Morgan from the Everyman Campaign said, “We are so delighted with the amount that TopGolf has raised and how supportive they have been to our Charity. As well as raising so much money they will also have helped us spread our message to many more men that they need to take care of their health.”
Millwall player, Neil Harris is a Patron of the Everyman Campaign and he accepted the cheque from TopGolf marketing manager Michael Angelides. Neil had testicular cancer and is now very active in helping to create awareness of this disease and to raise more funds for its research.
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men from 15-44. However, it has a 99% cure rate if caught early enough so awareness is vital. The Everyman Centre is the only dedicated male cancer research centre in Europe and all funds raised by TopGolf will go directly towards supporting its research.
TopGolf are sports and entertainment centres built around a revolutionary point scoring and competitive new game in golf. Players hit real golf balls containing micro-chips into targets on the range which record distance and accuracy off the tee. The information is then fed back to computer screens in each bay, allocating points and giving players their running scores.
